The office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has called for the immediate arrest of a supervisor for assaulting a teller.
A CCTV footage of Ibrahim Taraiya, a supervisor at Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado, assaulting the female cashier was heavily shared on social media on Friday with many calling for his arrest.

In a Twitter post on Saturday, the ODDP said: “ ODDP has ordered for the immediate arrest of Ibrahim, a supervisor at Eastmatt Supermarket, Kajiado, for assaulting a teller”.

Earlier, in a press release that commented on the incidence, the Supermarket said it had suspended the supervisor and filed a report at the Kajiado County Police.
“We as Eastmatt condemn and do not stand for such heinous acts of disrespect against any of our staff and more so women. The individual in question acted solely and has been suspended with a report officially being filed to the Kajiado County Police and are handling the matter accordingly”.
It added that the affected cashier has been getting the appropriate medical attention while assuring the public of its commitment towards a cohesive and conducive environment for its staff members.
