Sofapaka End Mathare United’s Unbeaten Run As Wazito Fall In Kisumu

Sofapaka ended Mathare United’s unbeaten run with a slender 1-0 win at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani. Mathare came into the match as the only team in the top flight yet to taste defeat but fell at home thanks to a Brian Nyakan goal in the first half.

The win leaves John Baraza’s team ninth on the log with 14 points while Mathare remains fifth with 17 points.

Meanwhile, Kisumu All-Stars made it two wins in a row with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wazito FC at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu. After a tense first half, Gershom Arabe broke the deadlock a minute after the restart from the spot following a handball in the area.

It was a double tragedy for Wazito who were forced into two early changes after Mike Oduor and David Oswe were injured. Eric Otieno made sure of the Points for All-Stars in the dying minutes with a well-taken finish. The win takes them out of the relegation zone with nine points while Wazito is 13th on the log with 10 points.

In another match played on Thursday, Posta Rangers made it six games without defeat following a 2-0 win over Nzoia Sugar. Rangers are now second on the log with 17 points, one behind Gor Mahia who play on Thursday.

Earlier, Sony Sugar failed to turn up for their clash with Zoo Kericho which resulted in Zoo being handed the three points and two goals.
