Four people have been confirmed dead and 12 others injured after a truck and a 14-seater matatu collided head-on at Man-Eaters along Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Voi Sub-county Commander Bernstein Shari has confirmed the incident and said the four died on the spot.
The scene of the incident, reports indicate, is prone to several accidents.
In 2016, one person died after a bus and lorry collided.
By October 14 2019, 2,263 men had lost their lives on the roads compared to 1,927 who perished in 2018.
On the other hand, 427 females had succumbed in road accidents in 2019.
According to the latest survey report by the National Transport and Safety Authority which indicates that 85.5 per cent of fatalities are males while 16.7 per cent are females.
