According to the government notification, Gumato was handed the job by Trade CS Peter Munya.

The lady’s name on the same note pops up in another official announcement, as the chairperson of JKUAT’s technology council.

She is expected to assume the reigns of power at the public university for three years.

A thorough scrutinization of the document revealed that Gumatto was expected to start work as from November 8 according to the instructions given by Education CS George Magoha.

It is yet to be identified the commencement date of the other job attributed to her.

In July 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated Gumato to the National Land Commission (NLC) board.

The soft-spoken doctor was among the 50 candidates shortlisted for the 8 posts up for grab in the organisation.

Ukuru’s wife who is rarely in the spotlight, is a PhD holder, has an MBA in Human Resource Management from UON and to crown her academic prowess, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education obtained from Moi University.

Aside from her latest posts, the little known Gumato is an administrator for the National Gender and Equality Commission.

The spouse to the Treasury CS depicts a wealth of experience as she previously worked as an undersecretary in the Office of the President as well as the former chairperson of the Integrated Pastoralist Development (IPAD) board.

In October this year, ICT CS Joe Mucheru caused a public uproar after he re-appointed a dead man to a government board.

The late Robert Kochalle was handed a dream job position at the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).

The deceased was handed back the position for another three years after passing away in 2018.
