‘Matiangi Colluded With ODM to Unleash Violence in Kibra’- Jubilee MPs

A section of Jubilee MPs on Tuesday faulted Cabinet Secretary(CS) for Interior Fred Matiang’i and his Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho for the alleged violence meted Jubilee leaders in Kibra.

In a press statement issued in Nairobi, the 14 MPs allied to Deputy President(DP) William Ruto claimed that the CS colluded with the ODM party to unleash violence in Kibra under the protection of police officers.

File: Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa and leaders allied to DP William Ruto blames CS Matiang’i fr the violence in Kibra.

Led by Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung’wa, the MPs accused the CS and his PS of going to bed with the ODM party leading to pockets of violence that were reported in Kibra.

“We are aware of a meeting held by a CS and PS at a hotel with ODM leader on the preceding night to the election.

“There was well-organised violence, that’s why Simba Arati was so confident because he knew he was not going to be touched by anybody,” said Ichung’wa.

According to Ichung’wa police were under instructions not to do anything when the Jubilee leaders monitoring the election were being attacked.

However, he says, the same officers were also instructed to protect the ODM party brigade from any assault.

“If Didmus Baraza or Kimani Ichungwa pointed a finger at Junet, there would have been a police contingency,” added Ichung’wa.

The Jubilee team allied to the DP have been demanding an apology from the ODM party over the pockets of violence witnessed in Kibra during the voting exercise.

The DP and his allies accused the ODM party of intimidating and scaring theirĀ supporters from voting.

The Orange party, on numerous occasions, relentlessly denied the allegations shifting the blame to the Jubilee party.
