Through a press statement released on Tuesday, the party, through Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has confirmed the removal of Abdi Guyo stating that the party took the decision after going through the letters they received from Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and the two conflicting parties.

On Thursday last week, ward representatives allied to Speaker Beatrice Elachi replaced Mr Guyo with Dandora III MCA Charles Thuo while Ms Waithera’s place was taken over by nominated MCA June Ndegwa.

Ziwani Kariokor MCA Millicent Mugadi was made the deputy majority leader in place of Riruta MCA James Kiriba.

Elachi endorsed the changes saying the process, that signaled a change in Jubilee Party leadership at the assembly, was legal and in line with the one done in the Senate during the ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

On Monday, police had to forcefully eject the MCAs, staff and journalist from the assembly premises after it was marred again with house leadership wrangles.

Embattled majority leader Guyo first met two goons at his office at around 6am before he was confronted by another faction led by Dandora MCA Charles Thuo who claimed to be the majority leader elect.
