‘Kibra Loss is Ruto’s Political Funeral’

Tiaty MP William Kamket has renewed his attacks on Deputy Presiden William Ruto days after his Jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga lost to ODM party candidate Imran Okoth in Kibra by-election.

Speaking on Saturday in Baringo, Kamket, who is a close ally of Kanu chairman Gideon Moi dashed Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions saying what happened to him in Kibra was also going to happen in 2022.

“I want to remind Tanga-tanga team that they committed a grave mistake by taking their cheap politics to Kibra. Kibra has now turned into an everlasting grave for Ruto’s team and their 2022 plans,” stated Kamket.

Kamket added that ODM’s victory in Kibra was a clear indication that the Building Bridges Initiative, BBI was going to see the light of the day despite clear indications that Ruto’s team was going to oppose it.

“I want to urge our Kalenjin community to think twice. Our son has lost in Kibra. He decided to walk alone and he might take you to the opposition in 2022.

At the same time, Kamket revealed that he will be rooting for the yet to be released BBI initiative since he also wants to be considered for the seat of the prime minister once the report is endorsed.

“We are behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga in support of the BBI. I am also salivating for the prime minister’s seat and once we pass it, I will take the seat..” communicated Kamket.

This is not the first time the vocal MP is launching vicious attacks on the DP. In June this year, Kamket linked the Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee to corruption and plunder of public resources and warned Kenyans against backing the faction.

He urged Kenyans to reject people moving around the country claiming they are in charge of the county in the absence of the president, saying that is a clear indication of how they are power-hungry.

He said the community would rally behind Baringo Senator Gideon Moi come 2022, should the Kanu national chairman declare his candidature for the presidency.

“As a member of the Pokot or Kalenjin community, we have declared our support for Senator Moi should he contest for the top seat. He is composed and orderly unlike those in Tanga Tanga movement who are riddled with theft. We will not allow thieves to ascend to power,” he said.

William Ruto and Gideon Moi have been embroiled in supremacy wars with each trying to control the rich Rift valley vote.
