Why Khalwale Received a Beating in Kibra, ODM MP Explains

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MPs have said goons attacked former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on November 7 because Jubilee Party provoked Kibra residents during the campaigns.

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo on Saturday blamed the Jubilee side that endorsed the McDonald’s Mariga candidature of polarising the Kibra race.

“In our thinking, it was a competition between Mariga and Imran and the others. But they made it a competition between one William Samoei Ruto and Raila Amolo Odinga. We showed them. We humbled Ruto because he said he wanted to teach Baba (Raila) a lesson,” she said.

Millie added that ‘Jubilee B’ used ‘abusive words’ on Kibra residents during campaigns.

“They are used to calling us stone throwers but what we saw they are the ones who are used to throwing boulders and stones. We saw Boni Khalwale who normally calls us stone-throwers carrying rocks but he learnt a lesson from Kibra residents,” she said.

The outspoken MP further stated “Kibra people are peaceful not unless they are provoked. When we are provoked we will defend ourselves”

Kabondo Kapisul MP Eve Obara accused DP Ruto of violating election laws by using his official residence in Karen to drum up support for Mariga.
