Police at the scene were forced to shoot in the air so as to disperse the angry crowd.
The candidate sought refuge in his green hummer and drove off from the polling station.

According to persons present at the polling station, the Jubilee flagbearer arrived on Thursday afternoon in the company of police officers.
The former footballer was not the only target of rowdy youth in Kibra as his ‘Political father’, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale received the same treatment twice.
Khalwale was stoned and asked to get out of Kibra grounds over allegations that he was the man in charge of voter bribery allegedly perpetrated by the Jubilee Party.

Khalwale was first stoned as he made rounds at YMCA polling station to check the progress of the ongoing by-election.
Amid the gunshots, the defeated senator ran to his vehicle and fled off to uperhill polling station.
