Good morning Kenyans on a day that is set to leave three people either in tears, despair, broken hearted or full of joy.

The big moment for Kibra residents is finally here as the voting process kicks off. After months of war of words, analysis, predictions, bedroom analogy, gruelling campaigns and last minute requests, the fate of Jubilee Kibra candidate Macdonald Mariga, ODM candidate Imran Okoth and ANC’s Eliud Owalo, among others, now rests in the hands of the voters.

ODM Party managed to get the first win hours to the poll when the court ordered IEBC to provide it with the much sought after document, the voters’ register. The timing, however, puts into question whether it will be a case of too little too late or it is the ace card that the Raila Odinga-led party needed in the event they bring the win home.

Whoever emerges victorious in this race will determine who between Deputy President William Ruto and Raila, is on course to have the last laugh come 2022.
