Milimani Anti-Corruption Court in Nairobi on Wednesday sentenced a former bodyguard to Migori Governor, Okoth Obado, to serve a two-year jail term or pay a fine of Kshs. 500,000.
The suspect; Moses Marandwi, personated and used academic certificates of Mr John Chacha Nyamohanga -a Kenya Defence Officer(KDF).
Appearing before Magistrate, Hon. Douglas Ogoti, Marandwi, who is a police officer was found guilty of personation on November 6, 2019.

The Ethics and Anti Corruption(EACC) offices received a complaint on July 13, 2016, alleging that two public officers, John Chacha Nyamohanga alias Moses Marandwi an Administration Police Constable and John Chacha Nyamohanga, a KDF officer were sharing school certificates originally belonging to one of them.

Investigations carried by EACC established that John Chacha Nyamohanga (alias Moses Marandwi) personated and used a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education certificate belonging to John Chacha Nyamohanga a KDF officer to secure employment as Administration Police in 2006.
The Office of Director of Public Prosecution recommended prosecution of the police officer for the offence of Personation of a person named in a certificate contrary to Section 384 of the Penal Code

Forty two witnesses have been lined up to testify against the governor who is charged alongside his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and Casper Obiero, a clerk in Migori County.
