Ruto Transforms From ‘Dragon’ to ‘Comedian’ With Speech Joke

Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday left an audience in laughter after showing off his comical side.

Ruto, who has been breathing fire the past few weeks, showed a side that could have left one wondering if he was naturally a comedian or had just used the moment to perfection.

During his address at the annual Tax Payers Awards held at Safari park hotel, the DP joked that he thought he was among the people being awarded when he was invited for the luncheon.

“When I got an invitation to this event, at one point I thought I had excelled in paying taxes…but I have a tax compliance certificate. I am tax compliant,” remarked Ruto.

The Jubilee party member however, brought down the roof when he quoted an unnamed politician’s remarks in regards to how the recent census report painted a different picture to the happenings in the bedroom

DP Ruto further commented that the sentiments by the leader and the statics given by KRA in terms of growth of taxes, were contradictory.

“I was engaging the chair and he told me that the efforts they have made, they have born fruits. when you compare to what happened this year and last year, taxes grew by 11 percent as opposed to 5 percent,” stated the Deputy President.

He added that,”This is in direct opposite with what I read today. One of the politician said when referring to the released census report, that the report does not reflects our efforts in the bedroom. He was basically trying to say….But KRA have done a wonderful job.”

On Monday, a section of leaders cried foul following the revelation of the findings of this years census.

Tharaka Nithi leaders led by the area Governor Muthomi Njuki claimed that the information given was a false representation of what is on the ground.

According to the Mt Kenya representatives, the numbers had been doctored under claims of political sabotage by KNBS.

Like his distraughted colleagues, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi vowed to challenge the data in court.

Kiraitu on his part, was frustrated that Ngare Mara residents were listed under Isiolo County.

The uproar by the central leaders left many to wonder whether it was an innocent mistake made by the organisation in charge, or a political manipulation of the numbers come 2022.
