Mane Leaks Klopp’s Guarded Secret at Liverpool

Liverpool, under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, are highflying and every club is only trying its best to catch up with the Reds on the Premier League table.

From 11 matches this season, Liverpool have won all save for one draw, and they’re pretty at the summit with 31 points, six more than those of second-placed Manchester City.

Senegal forward Sadio Mané has come out to attribute this superb performance to Klopp’s magical secret that has been embraced by everyone in the Liverpool’s dressing room.

“His secret, I think, is to be the team’s dad. Between us, everything clicked straight away. We all love him like a father and we fear him like one too. He takes up a lot of space in my life, and not just in football. He’s great as a person,” he said.

Mane’s comment comes after the German manager defended him against Pep Guardiola after he was booked at Aston Villa on Saturday for simulation, before scoring a header in stoppage-time to secure a 2-1 win for the Reds.

Guardiola, speaking after City’s comeback win against Southampton on Saturday, reacted by saying “sometimes Mane’s diving, sometimes he has this talent to score incredible goals in the last minute”.

But his words did not go down well with Klopp, who said: “I’m not really in a Man City mood at the moment.

“Do I like that he says this about one of my players? I’m not even 100 per cent sure if he spoke about Sadio [Mane] or us in general. I didn’t hear Sadio’s name.

“I don’t know how he could have known about any incident in the game so quickly after [their game against Southampton].

“Sadio is not a diver. There was a situation in the Aston Villa game where he got a contact and went down. Maybe it wasn’t a penalty but there was contact – it’s not like jumping over a leg and acting like he hit you.”

In July, Mane confessed how Klopp has transformed his life at Liverpool.”To be honest, I think I improved a lot in my finishing. It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development,” he said.
