Allegri Advised to Snub Bayern Munich for Manchester United

Veteran Italian coach Fabio Capello has urged compatriot  Massimiliano Allegri to snub Bayern Munich and play the waiting game for a chance to coach Manchester United.

The German champions are currently without a coach after Niko Kovac was fired following 5-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, their worst defeat in over a decade.

Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge stated that the poor run necessitated the change in guard.

“The performances of our team in recent weeks and the results have shown us that there was a need for action. We all regret this development. I would like to thank Niko Kovac on behalf of FC Bayern for his work, particularly for last season’s double win,” he said.

The German side is said to have shortlisted Allegri and Jose Mourinho among other coaches for the vacant coaching role. Allegri has been without a club since May when he parted ways with Italian giants, Juventus despite guiding them to Serie A title.

Bayern is said to have mistreated Carlo Ancelotti before firing him unceremoniously and Capelo, a former England national team has advised his countryman against joining the side.

“He’d be a good fit at Bayern Munich, although I don’t know how welcome Italians are in Germany after Ancelotti,” he said.

Capelo has advised Allegri to wait for Manchester United job. Current coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure after a difficult start of 2019/20 season and the Italian is said to be among the tacticians earmarked as a possible replacement.

‘England’s exciting, there’s the possibility of working well and the Premier League is a championship that enriches you. If I was Allegri, I’d go to Manchester,” he said.
