Ruto’s Brigade Adds Fire to Anti-BBI Crusade

An outfit of women leader that supports Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to oppose the yet to be released Building Bridges Initiative report unless it increases opportunities for women and shares resources equitably.

Members of the Inua Mama group made the remarks while on a tour to Turkana County.

The Chairperson of the outfit and Kandara MP Alice Wahome declared they want resources shared according to the population.

“As Mount Kenya leaders we have said that our stand is one man one vote one shilling,” said Wahome.

Her remarks were shared by Nyeri County Woman MP Rahab Mukami who said they will seek to increase the equalization fund for the marginalized communities.

Kajiado nominated senator Mary Seneta defended the Tanga Tanga team saying the pastoralist communities will shoot down the BBI report if it does not address the needs of women and pastoralist communities.

Regarding the 2022 politics, the leaders said they would back DP Ruto for the top seat. Turkana Women MP Joyce Emanikor who hosted the 23 MPs said they will support Ruto in 2022.

Joyce’s sentiments on the support for DP Ruto were echoed by Garrisa woman MP Anab Gure and Tana River woman MP Rehema Hassan.

“We agreed to support Uhuru Kenyatta for 10 years and then support William Ruto for 10 years, we shall not relent,” said Anab.

Other leaders present included Beatrice Kones,-Bomet East MP, Lilian Tomitom -West Pokot, Soipan Tuya- Narok woman MP , Florence Jematia- East Africa MP, Beatrice Nkatha- Tharaka Nithi MP, Joyce Korir-Bomet woman representative, Florence Bore- Kericho.

Others include Janet Sitieni -Turbo MP, Janet Nangabo -Trans Nzoia MP, Tecla Tum Nandi MP, Jayne Kihara- Naivasha MP, Falhada Iman nominated senator and Naomi- Waqo nominated senator.
