Man United Linked with Argentine Forward

Manchester United have reportedly turned their eyes on Inter Milan’s Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez as they look to beef up their forward line following the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan.

The pair’s departure to Serie A left United short of power upfront with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford their only recognized forwards. An injury to Martial earlier in the season left United with only Rashford and academy prodigy Mason Greenwood to rely on.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on beefing up his attack in January. Moussa Dembele of Lyon, Callum Wilson of Bournemouth, Harry Kane of Tottenham, RB Salzburg’s Erling Braut Håland and Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic have all been linked with moves to Old Trafford.

The latest player to be linked with the English giants is Argentine hitman, Lautaro Martinez who is currently on a hot streak in Italy. Martinez is Lukaku’s strike partner and the two have developed a great understanding of bagging goals in nearly each and every game for Antonio Conte’s side.

United will, however, have to cough nearly 100million pounds to acquire his services from the Serie A club. He has already scored seven goals in all competitions including strikes against Barcelona and Juventus.

The San Siro based club acquired the player’s services in 2018 from Argentine club Racing Club de Avellaneda. He scored nine goals in his first season for the club.

On the international level, the attacker has made 15 appearances for Argentina national team scoring seven goals in the process.
