Also, Babu took the opportunity to declare that he will not allow students to lose hope and suffer in silence at the university promising to offer help to anyone in need henceforth.

“I have been watching you suffer in silence and decided not to keep quiet any more. Many have dropped out because of lack of fees.

Many have been suspended/expelled from the university just because the only mistake they did was to fight for their rights.

Many have died because they lost hope, some because of police brutality while others have dropped out because they don’t see a future, they finish the university with an intention of getting jobs and changing their lives and those of their loved ones but the same jobs are not available.

Do not fear, do not lose hope for I’m back solely to help you make it in life, I’m back to help you fight for your rights, I’m back to bring joy ones more on your faces. Whenever you are weak I will be strong.RIP comrade Masese, my heart bleeds,” wrote Babu on his social media accounts.

Reports making rounds on social media indicate that Masese was an active player of campus politics at the University of Nairobi.

According to a social media user identified as Alvan Kinyua, Masese was an impeccable figure in shaping campus politics.

“Masese is one of the long-standing generals who gave taste to SONU politics during its heyday … When UON student politics was the real deal …

The late Salim Masese.

Masese was a friend and elder brother to me …

Away from the hullabaloo and showdown which characterized SONU elections, and which the guy was a real master of, Masese was a gentle, kind, humane and extremely genuine human being…,” wrote Kinyua on his facebook account.

However, this writer has learnt that Masese, despite having a colourful political career at UON, had a rough time with his educational journey given that he was reportedly expelled from the said university.

It has been established that Masese had spent over ten years at the university without finishing his studies.

However, it is not yet established whether it is his reported expulsion from the university that led to his death.
