Deputy President William Ruto appears to have learnt a lesson or two, from the public backlash he received over the weekend, for attending a campaign rally escorted by heavily armed security detail.
Ruto, who was accused of attempted intimidation during a Kibra rally, Wednesday paid a visit to Ngong Forest Primary School, to supervise the opening and distribution of the Science examination, as the 2019 KCPE enters day two.
The deputy president’s security detail was, this time round, nowhere to be seen as Ruto walked around the school interacting with pupils, teachers, and other exam officials.

Ruto was subjected to public scrutiny, after the ODM Party published photos of two commandos keeping watch, as he and other politicians addressed the crowd, drumming up support for Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga in the November 7 by-election.
“The people of Kibra are unbowed….And forever they shall (be). Hii vitisho ni Baridi tu (These are just meaningless threats),” ODM Spokeman Phillip Etale said while sharing the said photos.
