Shape Up or Ship Out, Sofapaka Boss Fires Warning at Head Coach

Sofapaka owner Elly Kalekwa has warned coach Divaldo Alves that he faces the sack if he does not turn the team’s fortunes for the better soon.

Batoto Ba Mungu are struggling in the Kenyan Premier League and currently sit 12th in the Kenyan Premier League log with seven points from seven league matches and the poor run is raising eyebrows in and outside the club.

A week ago there were rumors that the club is planning to fire the Portuguese tactician who joined the club at the start of the season and replace him with his assistant, and club legend John Baraza.

He however managed to stay put for one more week but following this weekend’s defeat, it now appears to be a matter of time before Batoto Ba Mungu’s revolving door claims another victim.

Club owner Elly Kalekwa has warned the tactician against any more poor results stating that he will wield the axe if need be.

“At Sofapaka you have to perform or leave. This is a big team but our position in the league at the moment does not reflect that. I have talked to the coach about these results and he understands that I am not pleased. Of things do not change that I will have no option but to make the necessary changes, we have to do what’s best for the team, “Kalekwa stated.

Next for 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions is an away match against Kakamega Homeboyz.
