Ruto Delivers Fiery Speech Ahead of Kibra D-Day

Deputy President William Ruto and Jubilee Kibra candidate Macdonald Mariga have taken their campaign to a new level ahead of the slated by election.

Ruto, stormed Kibra as the the campaign trail heads to the final lap which has become intense.

The DP who has seemed off the radar in the past few weeks, delivered a fiery address to residents of the area as he aid the former Inter player’s bid to be the next MP of the area.

The tough talking Ruto stated that it was time for a new reign to take over in Kibra, in the form of the energetic Mariga.

The Deputy President argued that the area will no longer be marred with stone throwing antics attributed to the ruling party’s rivals.

He added that, the Kibra people had suffered enough with poor infrastructure and lack of amenities which would be provided by the President Uhuru Kenyatta led party in the event the brother to Tottenham player Victor Wanyama, emerges victorious.

Mjadala wa Kibra lazma ibadilike. Kibra hii haiwezi kuwa mahali pa kutupa mawe. Haiewezi kuwa tena na barabara ya matope. Haiwezi kuwa tena slum. Tunataka kubadilisha Kibra ikuwe city ya Nairobi. (The agenda in Kibra must change. It will not have muddy roads. It will not be a slum again. We want Kibra to be part of Nairobi,” remarked Ruto.

The Jubilee party second in command, insinuated that the people should not accept the lies fed to them by ODM party.

Ruto alleged that the Raila Odinga led party should refrain from using violence as an avenue of trying to intimidate them.

The politician asserted that he was not afraid to be in the area despite calls for him to be shunned and chased away.

Wapinzani wetu wawache fujo. Wawache mambo ya kusema piga huyu, choma huyo ama piga huyo mawe.(Our rivals should stop being violent. They should stop utterances such as beat up this person, burn that person or stone that individual,)” expressed the DP.

The leader who has faced backlash over various matters such as the BBI and the fielding of Mariga as a contestant for the seat that was left vacant by the late Ken Okoth, assured the residents that the government was fully committed to upgrading the area.

Ruto furthermore, promised that money will be set aside to help the people who lost their property in the recent fracas that have marred Kibra.

The sentiments by the Deputy President come two weeks after Mariga’s convoy was attacked during a rally in the area.

Mariga had filed a complaint at the IEBC in regards to the attack which was dismissed on the basis that it did not meet certain regulations as mandated by the law.
