Divided Party: More Jubilee MPs Endorse ODM’s Imran

With the campaigns for Kibra seat entering the homestretch, more Jubilee Members of Parliament (MPs) on Tuesday endorsed ODM’s Bernard Imran Okoth.

At least five Jubilee MPs on Tuesday attended a meeting between Raila Odinga and a delegation of representatives of the Kikuyu community who reside in Kibra.

The MPs include Maina Kamanda (Nominated MP), Fatuma Gedi (Wajir), Ruth Mwaniki (Kigumo) Abdi Koropu Tepo (Isiolo South) and Hassan Oda Hulufo (Isiolo North).

Earlier in the day, Raila had met Jubilee Nominated MP Maina Kamanda and delegation of young people, who pledged to use everything in their power to ensure that Imran captures the Kibra Seat on November 7th.

 

Kamanda, in a press briefing after the meeting, said they would ensure that Okoth emerges victorious with a huge margin.

He stated that the youths drawn from Jubilee and ODM camps had united to support the “Handshake Candidate”.

Jubilee MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto also engaged Kibra residents in different meetings to campaign for the party’s candidate MacDonald Mariga.

MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), and James Gakuya (Embakasi North), George Theuri (Embakasi West) organised meetings with Kibra residents to drum up support for Mariga.

Also, Langata MP Nixon Korir, Kimilili lawmaker Didmus Barasa, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale also pitched tent in Kibra.

Mariga attended different meetings including one where he met with single mothers and promised to look into challenges facing them if he wins on November 7.
