Luo women have today expressed their concern after Radio personality Jalango married a Taita woman in a traditional wedding.
This union between Jalango and his Taita lover Amina Chao triggered the realization that most popular Luo men have lately been marrying away from their community.
Jalango, Eric Omondi, Babu Owino, Nick Odhiambo, the late Fidel Odinga, and others are listed among Luo men who either married or had relationships with women from a different community, a thing that sparked a heated debate on social media that Luo men are neglecting their women.
Judging from some of the reactions, Luo women feel that it is their right to have men from their community marry them.
Others disagreed with this ideology stating that it is not a must for Luo women to be married by successful Luo men.
Despite the fact that there are many Luo women who are married to Luo men, a number of Luo men have in several instances spoken ill of their women in the relationship aspect.
Some of them claim that Luo women are not beautiful enough, too demanding and difficult to handle.
In their defence, women insulted Luo men marrying away from their tribe terming them as weak and less manly.
Although some described this online fight as unnecessary and destructive, some supported it highlighting that it is enough proof the Luo men and women love each other although it manifests as jealous.
