Barely before the dust could settle after Silverstone Air made an emergency landing at Eldoret International Airport, Kenyans on Twitter have come to chide the beleaguered Airline.
Trouble started on October 11 when a Lamu-bound Silverstone passenger plane crashed shortly after taking off from Wilson Airport at 9 AM.

The plane identified as a Fokker 50 with registration number 5Y-IZO crashed with 55 souls on board including 5 crew. Two were rushed to Nairobi hospital with serious injuries.
Sunday, a Silverstone Airline was reported to have hit an East African plane on its way to departure. Reports would emerge that the pilot proceeded with the flight without assessing the extent of the damage.

Monday afternoon, Silverstone Air was in another mess after a plane from Lodwar had its third wheel drop off upon take-off.
The plane headed to Nairobi would be diverted to Eldoret International Airport after the pilot cited emergency reasons.

Responding to the incident, Silverstone Airline sent a statement to the newsrooms stating that the said plane had made a safe landing in Eldoret and that all passengers had been rebooked to Nairobi.

“The captain of the flight decided to divert to Eldoret International Airport in the interests
of the continued safety of the passengers and the crew. This was a precautionary
action and the aircraft landed safely, ” read the statement in part.

As usual, a public regulator Kenya Civil Aviation Authority is asleep & has been giving free pass to Silverstone Air to operate when it can’t even afford new tires! Does KCAA want to be called to action when we have dead passengers? Do regulators in Kenya know their mandate?
