Tiens International Online Marketing company has attracted the attention of many social media users in the country after claims emerged that the company has been conning jobless Kenyan youths thousands of money with false promises.
According to a section of the youths who have come out to expose the fraud, the company has been lying on jobless youths about opportunities to make money once they deposit a certain amount of money with the company.
Oblivious of the uncertainties that surrounds the controversial online marketing company which has its roots in China, many youths have been conned of huge amount of cash with no returns at the end.
While narrating how he felt for the company’s trick, one victim, Dominic Oboge from Kisii communicated that he borrowed a loan amounting tosh26,080 to invest in the company expecting returns at the end of every month.
According to Oboge, the company had promised to pay him a total of sh15,00 every month after depositing the said amount and inviting five other people under his network.
However, after paying and getting five other customers under his network, Oboge was taken in circles once he went to demand his monthly dues.

Some of the new customers under Dominic’s network were also taken in circles once they also paid to the company.
Upon deciding to visit the company’s office’s in Nairobi to seek clarifications on why they had not been paid their money, Oboye and his friends claimed to have been thoroughly beaten and sent away without any money.

“Once we visited their offices to demand our pay, they argued that we were out to paint their organisation in a bad image. They started beating us mercilessly as one way of ensuring that we never set our feet in their offices,” narrated Oboge.
The same was aired by other victims who claimed they were also conned into paying out the money which most said they acquired through loans but later turned down even after meeting all the company’s requirements.

Tiens Company has stores all over the country selling products it claims are ‘medicinal.’ Its employees claim they can test for various illnesses with equipment such as a ‘blood circulation massager,’ ‘face pain remover,’ ‘blood pressure reducer,’ and a ‘necklace that removes radiation
It also recruits non suspecting people, especially youths to buy and market its products to other people who then buy and market those products in what is known as social networking.
It has a number of offices at Nairobi’s CBD as well as in Westlands Unga House fourth Floor.
The company was banned in Uganda in 2017 after reports indicated that the company was involved in a pyramid scheme that had conned most Ugandans of their money.
