In a satirical way, the photographer inquired whether the national institution owned the five star brand.

As we defend Uhuru Park from landgrabbers, can Serena Hotel tell Kenyans how they corruptly acquired part of central Park? The website says, “Nairobi Serena Hotel stands on the land that carried the current National Museum of Kenya in 1922,” read the tweet.

Boniface’s sentiments were echoed by netizens who had the following reactions:

Joanem Moshyrem declared that the structure should be brought down.

“Serena should be brought down. We want our Central Park back. Who sold the plot ? Where did the money go ?” stated Joanem.

Another netizen identified as Sweden Hill responded to the activist declaring that he should,”Ask Jomo and H.H. the Aga Khan.”

Reuben Stephanophia proclaimed that the once Starehe constituency aspirant, wanted to start a revolution with the details gathered.

The new battled waged, comes days after Kenyans showed their displeasure in reference to a section of Uhuru park being hived in plans for the construction of the state of the art Nairobi Expressway.

Netizens, made it clear that the move by the government was a disgrace to the deceased Prof. Wangari Maathai who defended it from exploitation during the rule of Retired President Daniel Moi.

The government on Thursday, gave clarity on the matter in a bid to ease the raging fire that was lit by the information.

Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna, stated that the park would not be touched during the construction of the multibillion project.

He explained that the area that will only be utilised during the process, is a 23 metre stretch that is highlighted to be a road reserve for the Uhuru Highway.
