Jubilee Party candidate for the Kibra by-election McDonald Mariga on Friday launched his trade and infrastructure manifesto in style.
The former football star and his brigade stormed Kibra in a shopping spree to support small and medium scale businesspersons.
Mariga took the opportunity to mingle and interact with his followers as they purchased products from local sellers in Othaya market.
Mariga promised to improve trade and infrastructure networks in the constituency by building roads and creating an enabling environment for businesses.
The Jubilee candidate was in the company of Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga who expressed optimism that Mariga will change the lives of many in Kibra.
“Campaigning for my brother Macdonald Mariga at Woodley Othaya Market, Kibra Constituency. Hon McDonald Mariga will improve the economic status of Kibra constituency by providing rare economic opportunities and dignified self-employment to the common Mwananchi,” said Omanga.
Mariga is facing tough competition from ODM candidate Bernard Okoth Imran, ANC’s Eliud Owalo and other 20 candidates cleared by the IEBC.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Ken Okoth due to colorectal cancer.
The by-election is slated for November 7.
