Klopp Hails Brace Hero Chamberlain

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has hailed forward Alex Chamberlain following his brace against Genk on Wednesday night in a UEFA Champions League match in Belgium.

Chamberlain opened the scoring in the second minute before scoring a stunner in the 57th minute as Liverpool went on to win 4-1 away from home.

Chamberlain recently returned to action after a lengthy layoff and Klopp was happy with the attacker’s input in the game. He also hailed the performance of the rest of the players.

“It was absolutely a great moment for him, but I would say with Ox his performance was exactly the same as the performance of the team – the goals were great but all the rest could have been better. That’s how it is, but it’s no problem. The (second) goal was sensational and very important for us,” the German tactician said.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell believes the club needs to sign another striker to compete with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

“Personally, I feel Liverpool need another striker. I know it sounds crazy because the front three are amazing, but I think they need another one to test the top three. I’ve got nothing against Divock Origi – and I think he’s a fantastic player and does his part,” he said.

Sadio Mane is on fire at the moment, Mohamed Salah has been but he’s not at the moment, and Roberto Firmino does a lot of the dog work, but still doesn’t score enough,” he added.
