Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is disappointed that Liverpool equalized in their Premier League match played at Old Trafford on Sunday.

He was the first on the score-sheet for a side which was considered underdogs going into the match but substitute Adam Lallana came from the tunnel to equalize for the tensed Jürgen Klopp boys.

Speaking after the bruising encounter, the 21-year old star insisted he didn’t think Liverpool “were good enough” to deserve a point.

“We deserved the three points. I don’t think they were good enough to get a draw out of the game or a win but this is football. It was a big opportunity missed and we just fell short. Hopefully, in midweek we can get a win and it will start a run for us,” he said.

He further took his frustrations to social media while thanking fans for the support.“Disappointed not to win but much better from us and good to get on the scoresheet. We’ll take the positives and build on them. Thanks for the support,” he tweeted.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand also echoed Rashford’s sentiment applauding the Red Devils for a spirited game.

“Unsettled Liverpool, made it difficult for them. Seeing out games like that when put under pressure is where you earn ya money. Wasn’t to be today but elements to be positive about. A confident Rashford. Willing Runners on the break. Aggressive with & without ball,” Rio Ferdinand tweeted.

With this result, Man United are 13th on the table while Liverpool are still towering at the summit.
