The accident occurred along the Embu-Makutano highway at 10:30 am.
Kirinyaga East Police Boss Antony Wanjuu said the accident involved a fuel tanker and the car that carried the parents of the 13-year-old girl.
The injured parents were rushed to Embu Level 5 Hospital for treatment while the body of the victim has been taken to Embu Mortuary.
Following the accident, nearby residents rushed with containers to fetch fuel that spilled from the lorry.
However, their motives were blocked by police who arrived at the scene swiftly.
Meanwhile, a police constable committed from Ruiru police headquarters committed suicide on Saturday.
The constable’s lifeless body was found dangling inside his house.
Phineas Lingera, the area police boss) confirmed the incident but did not reveal the police name.
Lingera described the victim as calm adding that the reason for the suicide is still unknown.
The body has been taken to Kenyatta University morgue.
