Likoni Tragedy Victims Laid to Rest [Photos]

Miriam Kighenda and daughter Amanda Mutheu have finally been laid to restMakueni County.

Miriam and Amanda drowned in the Indian Ocean together after their car slid off the ferry and plunged into the deep waters. Their bodies and car were retrieved from the Indian Ocean 13 days

The recovery operations were led by the Kenya Navy and private divers.

On Friday, Sonko, through Sonko Rescue Team, offered to transport the bodies of the victims from Mombasa to Makueni for burial.

In a message of condolence to the family, Sonko said: “It’s God who will guide you through. As human beings, we will follow the same route. To the widower, John Wambua and the young son, Alvin, we are together brother during this difficult moment”

 

“I know this is the moment you are really feeling the pain but tuko pamoja” Sonko added.

The generous Governor said the Sonko Rescue Team is currently helping bereaved families transport their loved ones to various parts of the country.
