The CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), Ezekiel Mutua has broke his silence following an online uproar caused by the appointment of a dead man to KFCB.

On October 17, 2019, CS Mucheru appointed Robert Kochalle and two others to the Films board.

The others are: Gathoni Kung’u and Nereah Aluoch Okanga.

It later turned out that Kochalle died in May, 2019 and as such, Mucheru appointed a ‘Ghost Worker’.

Well, Mutua has now come to the defence of CS Mucheru and has said that the whole issue has been blown out proportion.

Mutua has revealed that CS Mucheru is not to blame for the Kochalle’s appointment.

“Small issue being blown out of proportion. The Board presented the notification to the Ministry for replacement and inadvertently he was reappointed. It was not CS Mucheru’s mistake at all as the conversation started when KFCB was under under Ministry of Sports & Culture,” Said Mutua.

Until his demise last year, Mr. Kocahalle was a member of the board of directors of the Kenya Film and Classification Board.
