Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and Technology Joe Mucheru is a man on the spotlight following his recent appointments at the Kenya Film and Classification Board, KFCB.
In a Gazette Notice dated October 17, 2019, CS Mucheru appointed among others Robert Kochalle to the Films board.
“In Exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11A (e) of the Film and Stage Plays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and Technology re-appoints – Gathoni Kung’u, Robert Kochalle and Nereah Aluoch Okanga as members of the Kenya Film and Classification Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 21st October, 2019,” Read the Gazette Notice.
The appointment of Mr. Kocahalle has raised eyebrows given that the said man is already late.
Mr. Kochalle died on 28, May 2018 and an orbituary sponsored by the Kenya Films and Classification Board was even run on one of the Local dailies.
Until his demise last year, Mr. Kocahalle was a member of the board of directors of the Kenya Film and Classification Board.
His appointment has led to an uproar on social media with a number of Kenyans asking if Mr. Kochalle has resurrected from the dead.
Some Kenyans are however of the opinion that the Government might have decided to go for the dead following the recent uproar over the appointment of the old.
Kenyans have little faith …. Many are followers of that bearded who claims to resurrect the dead ….. Has the family of Mr. Kochalle disputed that their kin has resurrected? And I know my friend Dr. Ezekiel Mutua as a man of God … Please, let’s celebrate new life! pic.twitter.com/BnTyjhZqkk
