English Premier League leaders and current Champions League holders Liverpool have been handed a massive double injury boost ahead of the trip to face Manchester United this Sunday.

The Reds will have goalkeeper Alisson Becker back in contention as well as Cameroon defender Joel Matip. Allison injured himself while taking a goal kick on the first day of the season against Norwich City. He has missed the last seven Premier League matches though Liverpool has won all of them.

Matip, on the other hand, missed the last Premier League match which was a win over Leicester City at Anfield with an ankle sprain. The center back is Liverpool’s first choice alongside Dutch sensation Virgil Van Djik.

Jurgen Klopp’s side is currently unbeaten in the league winning all their 8 matches in the process. With 24 points, Liverpool is top of the table and 8 points better than defending champions Manchester City in second place.

A win for Liverpool on Sunday would equal Manchester Citys record of 18 Premier League wins in arow set last season. They come up against a Manchester United side low on confidence and have only won two league matches this season while scoring just twice in their last five matches.

Liverpool has however not beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford in the past six visits. Last season, the encounter ended in a barren draw as Liverpool missed out on the title by a single point.
