A matatu tout is currently held by police for allegedly raping a woman after he duped her into his house to clean his clothes.
Peres Katundu Wambua is said to have raped the unnamed woman at his house in Pipeline estate, Embakasi on September 30, 2019.
The 32 year old was charged before a Makadara court with committing an indecent act with an adult.
Wambua met the 21-year-old woman at a restaurant before he allegedly asked the complainant to accompany him to his house to clean his children’s clothes for pay.
After agreeing to the offer, the woman followed the suspect to his house. On arrival, he pushed her onto a chair and reportedly took selfies with her after locking the door.
He then drew a machete under the bed after he forcefully dragged her to his bedroom.
He threatened her if she didn’t yield to his demands and after the heinous act threatened her further with dire consequences if she reported the incident.
The suspect however denied all the charges when he was arraigned before chief magistrate Heston Nyaga.
Shockingly, the victim withdrew the charges against him after she told the court she had forgiven Wambua.
Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji is yet to issue a verdict on the matter before the decision is effected.
