Kipchoge Requests To Meet Former US President Obama After His Big Win

Kenyan Marathoner Eliud Kipchoge has requested to meet former USA President Barack Obama after his big win in Vienna.

This comes after Obama sent a congratulatory message to the athlete for his record-breaking performance.

In a Tweet, Obama praised Kipchoge and Kenyan female athlete Brigid Kosgei who set a new women’s record in Chicago.

Obama also described the two icons as remarkable examples of humanity’s ability to endure—and keep raising the bar.

In response to his message, Kipchoge thanked Obama for the special note and took the opportunity to ask for a meetup.

According to Kipchoge, his intention is to discuss with Obama on how they can both work together for a positive impact across the world.

“Dear Mr. Obama, Thank you for your special words. In life, we hope to inspire others. Thank you for inspiring me.

“It would be my greatest honor if we could meet, and discuss how we can make this world a running world. As a running world is a peaceful world,” reads his tweet.

Obama’s message joins a long list of others from prominent people who have congratulated the two athletes for their outstanding performance during the weekend.
