Kenyan middle-distance runner Elijah Motonei Manangoi is an inspired man following a pulsating record set by marathon king Eliud Kipchoge, recently.
Two days after Kipchoge became the first man to ever run a marathon race in under 2 hours with a motivational tag of ‘No Human Is Limited’, Kenyans took to social media to announce what they learnt from the INEOS 1:59 challenge.
Every Tom Dick and Hurry threw in their thoughts under a dedicated hashtag #EliudToughtMe.
But a statement from Manangoi was the most conspicuous. The 2017 1500m gold medalist said he would want to run the same distance in under 3 minutes and 30 seconds (3:30).
That would definitely surpass his gold records of 2018 African Championships (3:35.20), 2018 Commonwealth Games (3:34.78) and 2017 World Championships (3:33.61).
“Eliud Kipchoge inspired me totally today. 3:25sc in 1500m is very very Possible,” he tweeted before his fans reacted with good luck messages.
