Several passengers are reported injured after a plane they were travelling in crashed at the Wilson Airport.
The Silverstone Air Limited plane, with 55 people on board, was just about to take off headed for Lamu via Mombasa when it crashed.

The Kenya Airports Authority has also confirmed the incident.

Photos reaching our desk show the plane lying on its belly in a mangled wreck.
Passengers on board say the 5Y-IZO plane was just about to takeoff when it skidded off the runway, ending up in a bush. Most of those on-board were unhurt, but there are reports of several passengers sustaining minor cuts.

EMS Kenya and the Kenya Red Cross teams have responded to the situation and are on scene.
Passengers are currently waiting for communication from the airline as to what exactly led to the accident.
