Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has taken issue with Interior CS Fred Matiang’s decision to declare October 10 a Public Holiday.

According to Kuria, CS Matiangi’s directive will have a huge impact on the Kenyan eceonomy which is already on it’s knees.

Kuria has also not seen the importance of the October 10th Holiday which is Moi Day saying that there is nothing worth celebrating on that day as all it reminds Kenyans of is 24 years of suffering and injustices.

“CS Fred Matiangi is totally wrong. To have two public holidays in 10 days is a horrific luxury which will dent our rickety economy through lost productivity. More so to celebrate 24 years of misrule and despotism. Wrong!,” Posted Kuria on His Official Facebook Page.

On Tuesday, Matiang’i sent out a Press Release declaring Thursday, October 10, as a Public Holiday in line with the Provisions of the Public Holiday’s act.

Matiangi called on Kenyans to mark the day with selfless acts of service to their community that seek to promote patriotism, national unity, social justice, cohesion and sustainable development in their community for the benefit of present and future generations.

Meanwhile, a number of Kenyans have welcomed the Matiang’i declaration with many of them lauding him for the many Holidays that have come by during his tenure as Interior CS.
