9 Bra Hacks Every Kenyan Lady Should Know (Photos)

Bras, love them or hate them, we are stuck with them like a life-long companion you didn’t choose to have.

Just like life-long companions, one has to find a way of co-existing harmoniously and today we gathered some bra hacks that will ensure that you get the best out of your bras.

1.Buying a bra
A bra usually has two or three settings of tightness, so when trying on a bra for purchase, make sure that the loosest (3rd) hook fits closest to your body. As the bra wears out, you can ensure that it is still snug by going a hook higher.

“When you buy a bra the back band should be firm fitting (you should only just be able to fit two fingers underneath) and the loosest setting should be the most comfortable. In fact, I’d go as far as to say if you can fasten the tighter hooks comfortably in the first wear then drop down a back size! The two looser setting are then there for when your bra stretches out with wash and wear. They allow you to tighten the back band so that you get the same support as you did initially,” reads an excerpt from www.curvykate.com

2.Size Extender

If your bra is too tight, get a size extender that will ensure that you are comfortable.

3. Hanging bras
Hang your brassieres on hangers to ensure longer shelf life and to also save on storage space.

4. Lay bras flat to dry
When drying your bras, lay them flat to dry, however, if that is not possible use a hanging line to dry but don’t hang them by the straps to prevent stretch.

5. How to store bras
Bra expert and lingerie store owner Linda Becker advises against inserting cups into other cups as this eventually leads to the cups becoming uneven because it destroys the fibres in the moulding.

“Never invert one cup into the other. Doing so destroys the fibres in the moulding, makes the cups bumpy, and shortens the life of your bra,” she advises.

6.Racerback bra on the cheap

When wearing racerback tops, one is advised to wear a racerback bra but they are not always readily available. Create your racerback bra using a racerback converter that pulls the straps to the centre. If you can’t find one to purchase, use a soft paper clip as a DIY racerback clip.

7.T-Shirt Bra
Invest in a T-shirt bra which has a smooth silhouette that will ensure that your t-shirt drapes smoothly over your bra.

8. All-weather bra

While flowery and red bras are cute, they are not always practical and that’s why you need to buy a nude bra that matches with your skin colour or a black bra that can be worn underneath white shirts.

9. Use tape to keep breasts up when wearing plunging dresses

Ever wondered how celebrities manage to keep their breast’s right and tight in low-plunging dresses without a bra? Well, Kim Kardashian recently let fans into the secret, she uses tape to keep her boobs up.
