Kenyan Media Personalities That Have Gained International Recognition

The Media industry in Kenya has become competitive in matters reporting,branding and also recognition. Many have tried what they can but a few are the ones recognized internationally.
Here are some of them:
1.Jeff Koinange:
Jeff Koinange in my opion is the G.O.A.T.He has commanded international recognition and respect. He is the first African ever to win a television Emmy and a George Foster Peabody. He merited the Vernon Jarret Award as well as another prestigious french award known as the ‘Prix Bayeux’ for the reportage that arrested global crises.

2:Larry Madowo:
Larry Madowo is a celebrated Media Personality. Having taken a study leave, He has been recognized in the African Youth Awards 2019 alongside Adelle Anyango. Larry has reported from over 40 countries and interviewed some of the most prominent people in Business, Politics and Social backgrounds.

3.John Allan Namu:
The former news anchor was rejected at home but was acclaimed abroad. African uncensored CEO, Namu won the Global Shining light award and the Trace International 2019 Award.

4.Amina Abdi:
Amina was nominated in the Women’s Choice Awards 2019. Her efforts and dedication led her to be Nominated for the Radio and Television personality of the year. Other Kenyans recognized in the choice awards included Lupita Nyong’o and Athlete Catherine Ndereba.

5.Adelle Onyango:
Former Kiss 100 radio presenter has been recognized by the African Youth Awards as an influential African. This is due to her efforts to empower Kenyan women and youth. Being the founder of ‘Adelle Onyango Initiative’ , an advocacy organization that educates Kenyans on various issues, and also providing solutions in matters economy and youth empowerment.

6.Patricia Amira:
Former Capital FM presenter is one influential woman. After her stint on the radio, she started a TV talk show that was watched all over the world,’The Particia Show’.Patricia has been feted in both Forbes Africa in the Top 40 Most Powerful Personalities and Forbes Afrique. She has also been featured in a French Magazine Le Monde.

7.Anne Mawathe:
BBC’s Anne Mawathe is an award-winning journalist with both National Recognition. She is an excellent writer and editor. While working at citizen TV, she had distinguished herself in groundbreaking reporting that saw her gain global recognition by CNN.
