Vocal Mount Kenya Politician Moses Kuria has warned of an impending implosion at the Pangani-based Jubilee Party before 2022.

Speaking to K24’s Anne Kiguta, Kuria noted that a storm is brewing in the ruling party, and may boil over just before the next General elections.

The Gatundu South MP pointed at the Handshake between President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga as one of the probable causes of the vicious fight in the party, adding that Central Kenya leaders are fueling the chaos.

“Jubilee is under capture by the centrifugal and centripetal forces of Kieleweke and TangaTanga,” said Kuria.

Pointing at the recent fronting of McDonald Mariga as Jubilee’s candidate in Kibra, Kuria hinted that Deputy President William Ruto and President Kenyatta were pulling in different directions.

Kuria, who says he will abandon the ruling Party to run for President in 2022, questioned the authenticity of Kenyatta ever endorsing Mariga, further fanning the flames of speculation surrounding the matter.

Kuria stated that an all-out war would emerge within the ruling party, signalling the proverbial last stroke on the camel’s back.

“There’s going to be a bloodbath in Jubilee, it is going to be vicious and I don’t want to be part of that,” said Kuria.

Since the March 9, 2018 cease-fire between President Kenyatta and his then nemesis Odinga, two factions emerged within Jubilee Party. The pro-handshake team ostensibly led by Kenyatta and a defiant group led by DP Ruto.

The divisions were heightened after President Kenyatta unsuccessfully challenged his deputy to stop 2022 campaigns and focus on the Big Four Agenda.

Last week, Dr Ruto claimed that fundraising to build churches was part of the Big Four Agenda and that he was justified to continue with his weekly fund drives.
