Raila Junior’s Moving Message To His Mother As World Marks Teachers Day

According to Raila Junior Odinga, in the words of Aristotle; “the one exclusive sign of thorough knowledge is the power of teaching.”

In reference to Aristotle words, Raila Junior, on Saturday, sent out a moving message to his mother Ida Odinga lauding her for the contribution she has made as one of the best teachers.

In a post that he shared on his twitter page, the scion heaped praise on his mother and other teachers all over the for their immense contribution to the society.

“The best teachers teach from the heart not from the book, on this teachers day we celebrate you mama @IdaOdinga the best teacher and educator.To all teachers around , happy World Teachers,” he wrote on his twitter page.

The wife to Nasa leader Raila Odinga is a teacher by profession and one of her notable students include the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso whome she taught at Kenya High School.

Among other wives of prominent personalities who are also teachers is the wife to the Deputy President William Ruto, Rachel Ruto.

Also known as International Teachers Day, World Teachers Day is held yearly on October 5.

Since its set up in 1994, the day celebrates the marking of the ” teaching in Freedom” in 1996.

Last year the theme was “Engaging Teachers”. It is observed all over the world over since 1994 after the UNESCO Recommendation concerning Teachers.

Its point is to centre around “acknowledging, evaluating and enhancing the instructors of the world” and to give a chance to consider the issues identified with educators and the teaching process in general.

More than 100 nations celebrate World Teachers’ Day globally.

The endeavours of Education International and its 401 associations have added to this broadly spread acknowledgement
