Manchester United target Erling Braut Haaland has admitted that he is feeling pressure from media attention after his strong start to the 2019/20 campaign.
The Red Bull Salzburg forward has scored 18 goals in 11 matches for the Austrian club and has since been linked with a move away from the club. Manchester United is one of the clubs said to be keeping an eye on the player as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to look for new strikers.
Asked whether the media attention is affecting him, the attacker admitted that he is feeling the pressure and wants more protection from his club.
“The media attention is huge. It’s good pressure. The club is good at shielding me a little, but I hope it will be more shielding in the future. It will be difficult, but we will try. I want to be shielded,” he said.
The 19-year old former Molde man had earlier admitted that he dreams of playing in the English Premier League leading to the reports linking him with United. The striker worked with United boss at Molde and he admitted that Solskjaer had an impact on his life.
“He has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer. He won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot. I have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football,” he said.
