Kenyans on social media on Wednesday took to social media to blast Tottenham after their 7-2 defeat in the hands of Bayern Munich in a UEFA Champions League match.
Spurs suffered what’s their heaviest home defeat in the hands of the Bavarians. Former Arsenal Winger Arsenal Winger Serge Gnabry led the rout by scoring four goals in the match. Robert Lewandowski got a brace while Joshua Kimmich also found the back of the net. Spurs got consolation goals through Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.
Many miles away from north London Kenyans on social media were ‘celebrating’ the defeat albeit for a different reason. Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama has been one of Spurs’ scapegoats this season with the midfielder suffering abuses from club supporters when the team loses.
On Tuesday however, he was not named in Spurs squad as his side collapsed in the second half to suffer the humiliating defeat. A result Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochetinno said requires ‘calmness’.
“Now is a moment to be calm and not make a mistake. After a result like today, stay calm. We all know how we feel, very disappointed, the feelings, of course, are not so good. We are not going to fix anything by shouting or talking when the emotions are on the skin. The feeling of course in the last 10 minutes of the game, when we conceded three goals, it’s like the team was tired and gave up a little bit,” he said.
Maybe @SpursOfficial is missing Victor Wanyama #TOTFCB

Tonight's match has proven beyond reasonable doubt that Tottenham's problem goes beyond @VictorWanyama

Kenyans were quick to point out that Wanyama wasn’t to blame this time.
Since Wanyama didn't play at all against Bayern Munich. Who is the scapegoat for Spurs' miserable performance? Just asking. #TOTFCB
