Manchester United midfielder Scot McTominay has urged his teammates to start taking the chance they create after another disappointing draw against Arsenal on Monday night at Old Trafford.
The Scottish midfielder opened the scoring for the hosts in the first stanza before Pierre Aubameyang ensured that the two teams shared the spoils with a second-half equalizer for the Gunners.
United threw away a number of chances with Marcus Rashford the main culprit and Scot feels things would have been different had they utilized the opportunities they created. He urged his teammates to be more ruthless going forward.
“There were a lot of different chances we had in the game and it is about us being more ruthless in front of goal now. It is little mistakes that we have to start cutting out because they cost you games, and points in this respect. Everyone in the dressing room knows it is a tough one to take because we were on top,” he said.
“I have said it in previous weeks we have to get more opportunities and create more. That is something the gaffer, Kieran [McKenna] and Michael [Carrick] are reiterating in the training sessions.
The midfielder believes the unity in the squad will help the team rise above the current setback.
“We are Manchester United and everything is so well documented but we have a real good bunch of players who are a tight-knit group and the team spirit is really, really good. We keep everything inhouse and it is all positive.” He added,
Next for United is an away match at Newcastle United on Sunday.
You watch the game, you don’t see Mctominay. But if you watch Mctominay, you see the game.

Thoughts on the game :
– Young will have nightmares about Saka
– Tuanzebe was solid in an unfamiliar position but left James isolated in attack too often
– Lingard offers nothing to this team
-Rashford can’t be our starting striker.
– Mctominay with a saucy performance #MUNARS— Ugbedeojo (@Certifiedopeboi) September 30, 2019
United have made one big error and it's cost them two points. That's the problem when you hardly ever score more than one goal a game. James, McTominay and Tuanzebe (even with the mistake) all positives.
