Police have launched a manhunt for a man who ran over five people and stabbed one man to death in Tigania East on Monday

The area OCPD Peter Karanja told journalists that Joshua Kileru while driving a Probox ran over traders at Muriri Market and along Muriri-Isiolo Road.

The 30-year-old businessman also randomly attacked people with a knife killing one in the process.

The OCPD said they are hunting for Kileru who is reportedly armed with a sharp panga.

“He went wild, brandishing a knife to everyone. We are still looking for him,” he said adding that he has issued a shoot-to-kill order for the suspect.

The suspect’s wife Gasheri Kileru told journalists that her husband went berserk at about 3 pm and threatened to kill her and their three kids.

He also swore to murder at least 50 people and then kill himself.

Gasheri said that her efforts to stop her husband from proceeding with the rampant killings bore no fruits as he proceeded to pick his car keys and a panga.

She reported that her husband was angered after a man of Somali origin confronted him over a camel that he attacked with a machete at Kiremu because it had blocked his way and damaged.

“He started behaving strangely from Sunday when a man of Somali origin visited the shop and threatened my husband claiming he killed his camel and they are soon coming for him”, she said.
