Tusker head coach Robert Matano is on cloud nine following their 3-1 win against Sofapaka. On the other hand, his Sofapaka counterpart Divalvo Alves has been forced to concede the painful defeat while pointing out errors that cost them the three points.

Speaking after the Saturday, September 28, match played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County, Matano bragged of a tactic which he says worked for him especially in the second half. He goes ahead to explain that his side is now set to pose real challenge to opponents after starting the season on a low note when they fell 5-2 to Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

“I wanted to get punchier in the game that’s why I made some key changes in the second half and we all saw what happened. We won the match,” he said.

He added; “We started the league on a low note but it is understandable because we had several injury cases. However, we saw our mistakes and we have rectified them as you can see from the results. For now, the most important thing for us is next match because we want to win more matches.,” Matano said.

On his side, the Batoto ba Mungu coach Alves says his boys lost the grip in the second half leading to the loss. He, however, insists that a number of his best players were kept out of the match by injuries. “First-half was fantastic but we experienced some challenges in the midfield in second-half,” he said.

With this result, Tusker have garnered seven points while Sofapaka have four, so far.
