Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has claimed that Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior is the best young player in the world at the moment.
The former Flamengo man found the back of the net for Real Madrid on Wednesday against Osasuna to end his seven-month goal drought for the Los Blancos as Madrid went to win 2-0 with another Brazilian Rodrygo Goes scoring the second on his debut.
Asked who is the world’s best young player at the moment, Alves who currently turns out for Brazilian side, Sao Paulo overlooked the likes of Frenkie De Jong, Matthijs de Ligt, Trent John Alexander-Arnold, and his former teammate Kylian Mbappe to name his countrymate was world’s best.
‘I would have to say Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid. There are some players that are born with talent and for sure he is one of them. I had the chance to watch him play closely, with the Brazil national team – I’m positive we will see and hear a lot more about him soon,” the right-back said in an interview.
Alves:
“Most promising player in a world football? I would say Vinicius Junior."
