Early on Thursday morning, there were surprising quotes alleged to be from former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger where he claimed that Manchester United would be his dream job.

Arsene Wenger has been without a job since he was sacked by London club Arsenal in 2018 after serving as manager for 22 years.

“Manchester United is a dream job for any manager. At least, any manager with courage and confidence. Yes, they need – in my opinion – four first-team players. But around those players, I see a squad that is capable of challenging. They aren’t as far away as people think,” said Wenger as per the report.

However, in a new twist to the tale, it has emerged that the quotes were fake and have been dismissed by French news outlets.

A video has also emerged clearing up what the French manager actually said about Manchester United. He termed them as a young immature side that is yet to find it’s feet and will not challenge for the title this season.

Wenger further claimed that the team needs a few more signings before they can go back to the glory days of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. Below is the video.

The record English Champions have only won two of their first six Premier League matches this season and were forced to go into penalties with League One side Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Next up is a highly-awaited Premier League clash with eternal rivals Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday.
