Manchester United has been linked with a move for Colombian forward Duvan Zapata as they seek a replacement for Romelu Lukaku who quit the club for Inter Milan in the summer.
United is short of fire-power following Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez’s departure to the Serie A side. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are currently injured leaving United with 17-year old Mason Greenwood as their only fit center-forward.
Reports in Italy now claim that Unite will swoop for the 28-year old during the January transfer window. According to Calciomercato United are closely monitoring the Colombian international who is on loan at the club from Sampdoria as they view him as an able replacement for Lukaku who quit United leaving them short of options upfront.
The former Napoli and Udinese man scored 28 goals in 48 appearances for Sampdoria last season making him one of the most sought-after strikers in the league. He has already scored four in five for Atalanta this season including a ferocious opener against AS Roma on Wednesday night, a goal that helped his side register a comfortable 2-0 win the capital Rome.
Should he complete a move to Old Trafford, he will become the second Colombian player to turn out for the Red Devils after Radamel Falcao who played for United during the 2014-15 season.
What a strike by Duvan Zapata that.
It is amazing how Papu Gomez keeps Atalanta ticking and they come to life everytime he gets the ball.
Roma's lack of Plan B is costing them here.

Could Champions League debutants Atalanta be this year's surprise package?
Yo-yo club shocked Serie A by finishing 3rd last season
Papu Gomez & Duván Zapata are the classic little & large partnership
Love a big game (beat all the top Serie A sides at some point last season) pic.twitter.com/QKKL7VsCZy

Wasn't a big fan of Duvan Zapata at Udinese and Samp but since he joined Atalanta it's only gotten harder to slander him
